Mommy and Me matching

July 10, 2020

This is a post that is long overdue. I receive so many questions on where I get mine and Finleys matching outfits, so I am going to share my secrets!

Tip: not all of our outfits are ” Mommy and Me” I create a lot of the outfits from pieces that I find at Old Navy, Target, etc. Pieces like a chambray dress, cream sweater, denim shorts are all great staple pieces that can be styled many different ways and easily matched with each other. For example:

My outfit: Top-Roolee, Leggings-LuLu Lemon, Jacket- Forever 21, Boots: the mall
Finley’s outfit: Top-Amazon, Leggings, boots, and jacket: Old Navy
Here are the same jackets styled another way with chambray tops and leggings.
I styled the jackets differently with this look.
My dress and Finley’s: Old navy
The dresses are styled differently here as well.
Hats: Ingrid and Isbell
Boots: Hunter
Here is another way we stayed in this dress.
My vest: local FB boutique
Finley’s vest: Old navy
My outfit: Sweater- boutique at a craft fair, Jeans and Boots- Stitch Fix
Finley’s outfit: Sweater-Target, Jeggings-Old navy
Here we style the same sweaters with some leggings and Uggs for a comfy travel look!
This look was so fun and easy!
My outfit: Dress-Target, Jacket- Gap
Finley’s outfits: Dress- Old Navy, Jacket- it was given to us
Headbands: Amazon

The Following looks are all pieces that I bought from a Mommy and Me collection. These are some of my fav places to shop at!

Alright, y’all. I don’t know if it is because I am an enneagram 3 or just because I love this idea, but checking off 30 goals before I am 30 sounds so exciting! I have accomplished so much in my 29 years and I’m not “afraid” to turn 30. I am looking forward to accomplishing as many, if not all of these goals! Here we go! How to do Disney World in 3 days

April 7, 2020

Disney in 3 days? Yes, it is possible and SO much fun. This was our 4th time to go and our second 3-day trip! I have compiled a list of tips and tricks on how to make it just as magical. (If you want to read about how to do Disney for longer, check out my other post here)

Disney’s Magical Express

We arrived at the Orlando airport and headed right for the Magical Express. There are signs as soon as you get off the airplane that point you in the right direction. We did not check bags so we did not have to wait at baggage claim (praise). Another time-savig trick: we took this foldable stroller so we put it up above out seat on the plane. We did not have to wait for them to bring it to use after the flight.

Have your magic bands ready to be scanned and they will tell you which bus to stand in line for. The bus line goes fast and the bus drops you off right at your hotel.

All-Star Movies Resort

We really enjoy the all-star resorts. We have stayed in all three all-star resorts and they are all very similar. The Moives resort is recently upated. However, our favorite is the All- Star Sports becasue it is the first one the bus goes too. So it picks you up first and drops you off first!

Shuttle Buses

Free transportation! Which is a HUGE reason why we stay on property! These busses will take you to each of the parks, to Disney Springs and to either of the All-Star resorts. If you want to check out the other resorts (which is really fun), you will have to take the shuttle to one of the parks and then take the correct shuttle to the resort you prefer.

Hollywood Studios

We only did two parks this time so I will be reviewing the two parks that we went too. We started with Hollywood Studios becasue we feel like it is a 1/2 day park. We went to HS right when we got there so it was aroud 1:00 pm. We went straight to check out Star Wars. We continued with Toy Story Land, Disney Jr., and The Frozen Sing Along. We also met Minnie and Mickey here. They are located towards the back. We ended the night with Fantasmic. (My favorite show!)

Star Wars: Ryan was only able to ride one ride. He rode it may times becasue it has single rider. He was not able to ride the other ride. In order to ride it, you have to get there early before the park opens and wait in line. Once the park opens and you enter then you can check in for a boarding pass. The boarding pass will give you a boarding group. If you do not get there early enough then you will not get in a baoring group. IMPORTANT: If you get in a boarding group it does not mean that you will get on. You could be in boarding group 123 and they could only make it to group 80. So it is not guaranteed unless you are a very low number. You are able to leave the park BUT you can not miss your boarding group being called or you will not get on.

One of our fav rides is Toy Story Mania! We used a fast pass for ths one! We also used a fast pass for the Frozeon Sing Along. However, it is not needed! Also, a fast pass for Fantasmic is not needed either! There are so many seats!

Magic Kingdom

My favorite park. We used our three fast passes for meeting Mickey Mouse, Meeting Ariel, and riding the Ariel ride. We got there right when MK opened and I highy ecommend it. Main Street opens before the park opens. So we got there about 30 minuts early and we were able to enter Main Street and we headed straight for the castle. The have ropes to rope off the entrances to the rides. They do an opening ceremony that was so cool! It was our first time to see it!

Once the ropes dropped, we headed straight for Peter Pan’s Flight Of Passage. We were not able to get a fast pass for this ride because they go so fast. So, we sprinted and waited no more than 5 minutes! After that, we headed to It’s A Small World After All and walked right on!

We got there early and were able to do all of the rides that we wanted to ride by lunch time. So, after that we just walked around and rode our fave rides, watched our fave shows, ate our fave food, etc!

We ended the night with both of the shows. Yes, there are two shows. Everyone usually leaves after the fireworks, but STAY for the second show!

Disney Springs

We finished our trip with Disney Springs. This is an outdoor shoping mall. You do not need a park ticket to get in. There are shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, and more! It is out fav way to end our trip! It feels like Disney without actually going into a park. Our fav place to eat is at D-Luxe burger. They also have this huge Disney store called World of Disney that has everything you could ever want!

Well there are some of my tips on how to do Disney in 3 days!

New Year, Same You

December 30, 2019

I have probably tried every diet regiment ever made. Tried and failed. Over and Over. It’s frustrating. And exhausting. The only thing that I have found the most beneficial is Whole 30. It’s hard, but it works, yall. I have completed two full rounds and I will start round 3 in January.

I know I know…why wait and start my weight loss in January? Cliche. However, I feel like there is something fun and motivating about starting in the new year!

I went ahead and made a meal plan to make it a little easier. One hard thing is trying to meal plan each day/week. So, I eliminated the stress by going ahead and creating a month-long meal plan. I am also intermittent fasting, so I will only be eating from 11:00 am-7:00 pm. On the meal plan below, you will see that I have not planned breakfast because of the fasting. However, I have put some breakfast ideas below the meal plan so you can have some ideas if you are not fasting. (I am going on vaca in the middle of the month and I will not be doing Whole 30 during that time. I am going to go ahead and start in January though, because I do not want to postpone it!)

*Disclaimer*

My in-laws east at Rosas every Saturday so I incorporated it into my meal plan. I get a taco salad wth ONLY fajita chicken and lettuce. I get a side of salsa and I bring my own plantains. The fajita meat is not compliant. Here is the thing: when I go out to eat I got food that is compliant, however, I do not ask how it is cooked (I do not like being THAT person). So while the food itself is compliant, how it is cooked might not be. I lost 20 pounds my first whole 30-so I am okay with it. Also, the Trader Joes plantain chips used to be compliant but now they are not. I still east them because all of the ingredients are compliant. I eat them with salsa for a snack! Whenever I eat at home all of my meals will be compliant. In N Out, Chipotle, Zoe’s, and Snap Kitchen all have whole 30 certified meals.

I also do Fit4Mom, so I am going to try my best to go Monday-Friday. When my Bible study starts back on Thursdays, I will probably skip and go for a morning run!

I am excited to start a healthier lifestyle for my family!

Finley’s two sweet birthday party

December 15, 2019

Finley’s birthday was the most fun! I can not believe we almost have a 2-year old! I have linked everything below!

Invitation

Balloons | Banner: I made it on my Cricut | Cake: made by a family friend |donut plates | Cake stand |

Plates | napkins: similar | straws: Hobby Lobby | cups: plastic cups from Target with donut stickers from Hobby Lobby | Finley’s dress + Bitty Baby dress | Bitty Baby chair | birthday crown | Party favor labels

Venue

Friends and Family

It was seriously perfect. My advice: have your party at a venue other than your house or some else’s. It was so easy! I kept is simple with decorations this year. It took about 2o minutes to put everything on up and I had about 10 minutes to take photos before guests starting arriving. I get flustered easily when I feel like I am in a hurry and then I don’t enjoy myself. However,  I never once felt rushed! The kids had the best time playing and I was able to talk to all of our friends and family. Finley had the best time and did not want to leave! She was in Heaven having all of our friends and family in one place!

Ways to give this holiday season

December 7, 2019

I was going to do a gift guide this year, however, I decided to post on ways to give instead. Finley’s birthday is 5 days before Christmas, so it is gift galore in December! I want her to know the true meaning of Christmas and to give more then she receives. Even though she is [almost] two, I have started these traditions with her so she can learn early on.

Donate

Donate all toys and clothes. We went through all of Finley’s old toys and clothes and donated them all to an organization called Young Lives. It is an organization that helps teen moms. They give away all donations for FREE! Finley helped my bag them up and then told them all “bye” as I explained where they were going.

Angel Tree

The Angel Tree is over this year, however, you should add it to your list for next year! It is so sweet picking out a child from the tree and shopping for something special just for them! It was even sweeter this year doing it with Finley. I loved talking with her about WHY we do it!

Salvation Army Bucket

I am guilty about just walking by the buckets and not thinking twice. However, I stopped the other day to let Finley put a coin in and it changed my mind. I overheard the bell-ringer tell a woman how much the Salvation Army had helped him. When Finley put her money in, he thanked her with the most sincerity. I will keep change with me from now on specifically for the red buckets.

Treat box for delivery drivers

I saw this last year and I loved it! Put a box of treats on your doorstep for when delivery drivers drop off packages this holiday season! This is the first year Ryan and I have had a house so I finally get to do it! I got a box at the dollar tree for $1 and filled it with some snacks and drinks! So easy and a great way to bless people working this holiday season!
